Data-driven hockey analysis — same model, new ice

BetBuildersAI has built data-driven match analysis for football from the start — now we are bringing the same approach to Swedish ice hockey. For the SHL and HockeyAllsvenskan you will find full fixture lists, tables that are updated after every match and the round-by-round table, which shows the standings after any round.

Before every match we publish predictions — probabilities after 60 minutes and including overtime, expected goals, the score matrix and value bets against the odds — plus hockey bet builder suggestions with the bookmakers’ combos priced against the model. Every prediction is graded openly on the results page.

Stats that go deeper than the table

The points table tells you who is leading. It does not tell you why. On the stats pages for the SHL and HockeyAllsvenskan the model’s table puts expected goals for and against, shots, power play and save percentage next to the points – and below it come the top scorers, the points leaders, the xG leaders and the goaltenders ranked on goals saved above expected. After every match there is also a match report with a shot map, xG minute by minute and the three stars of the match.

    Who will win the league?

We let the supercomputer play the whole season a million times and count how often each team wins the league, makes the play-offs or ends up in the relegation qualifier. The result is updated after every round on the simulation page. And if you would rather play Svenska Spel’s hockey pool, the model’s probabilities for every match are on the Powerplay page (Svenska Spel, in Swedish), with a reduced system you can export directly.

Frequently asked questions about hockey on BetBuildersAI

Which hockey leagues does BetBuildersAI cover?

The SHL and HockeyAllsvenskan, every match all season. Each match gets a prediction before puck drop and a match report afterwards, and both leagues have fixtures, a table, a round-by-round table, a stats page with an xG table and leaderboards, plus a season simulation.

How do the hockey predictions differ from the football ones?

The outcome is different. Hockey is settled on the score after 60 minutes – home win, draw or away win – and a separate component estimates who wins if the match goes to overtime or a shootout. The model is built on event data from every match: shots, xG, faceoffs, penalties and goaltending performances.

    What is a match report?

The page published once the match has been played and the event data is in: a shot map for both teams, expected goals and expected threat minute by minute, the goals, the goaltenders’ performances and the three stars of the match. It sits as its own tab on the match page.

    Are the hockey predictions free?

Yes. Predictions, stats, match reports and bet builder analysis are free and need no account. The odds come from our partner bookmakers and the links to them are affiliate links. 18+, gamble responsibly.
