SHL table 2026/27

Here is the SHL 2026/27 table, updated after every match played. Points, matches, wins, losses and goal difference – and below it the same table split into home and away matches, plus the round-by-round table that shows the standings after any round.

Three points for a win after 60 minutes, two for a win in overtime or a shootout, one for a loss there. That means a team can take points from four straight defeats and still lose ground. Keep an eye on the regulation-wins column – it says more about who is good than the points total does.

After 84 matches played, Färjestad BK lead with 33 points from 12 matches.

How to read the SHL table

The columns are the usual ones: GP is games played, W–D–L wins, draws after 60 and losses, GF and GA goals for and against, GD goal difference and P points. A draw after 60 does not exist in the final result – it is always settled in overtime or a shootout – but in the table those matches count as exactly that: two teams that shared the points.

Goal difference decides when points are level, then goals scored. That sounds marginal until March, when three teams are level on points and a 6–1 win in October is suddenly worth a play-off place.

    Home table and away table

Home advantage is bigger in hockey than in football – around 55 per cent of matches are won by the home team, and some arenas are real fortresses. The home and away tables expose teams that live off their home ice and collapse on the road. For anyone betting, that is usually where the odds are wrong: the market prices the team, not the team away from home.

Round-by-round table – the standings after any round

Move the round slider to see what the table looked like after round 5, 10 or 26. Useful for seeing who started strongly and faded, who came late, and how long the slumps actually were. Memory always exaggerates. The table does not.

Play-offs, play-in and qualifiers in the SHL

The top six teams go straight to the quarter-finals. The teams in seventh to tenth play the play-in for the last two quarter-final places. Teams 13 and 14 are forced into the qualifier against HockeyAllsvenskan’s best team – with the whole SHL place at stake. With 52 rounds and small margins, it is often decided on the final weekend.

Frequently asked questions about the SHL table

How are points awarded in the SHL?

Three points for a win in regulation time, two points for a win in overtime or a shootout, one point for a loss in overtime or a shootout and none for a loss after 60 minutes. When points are level, goal difference decides, then goals scored.

How many teams make the SHL play-offs?

Ten. The top six go straight to the quarter-finals and teams seven to ten play the play-in for the last two quarter-final places. Teams 13 and 14 play a qualifier against HockeyAllsvenskan to keep their SHL place.

    What is the round-by-round table?

The round-by-round table shows what the SHL table looked like after a given round. Move the slider to any round and see the standings as they were then – useful for following form and seeing how the title race and the relegation battle developed during the season.

How often is the SHL table updated?

After every match played, normally within an hour of the final buzzer. The home, away and round-by-round tables are updated at the same time.

Which teams play in the SHL 2026/27?

The SHL 2026/27 has 14 teams meeting over 52 rounds. Click a team in the table for fixtures, results, key metrics and predictions for the team’s next match.

What is the difference from the xG table?

This page shows the official table: the points actually taken. The xG table on the stats page shows what the teams should have taken based on the chances they created and allowed. The gap between the two points out who is over- and underrated – and that is usually where the value is.
